Violin and Viola: Santa Cruz Symphony Musician Visits Students

Jill VanGee, from the Santa Cruz Symphony, visited Mount Madonna School’s fourth and fifth grade students to educate them on the families of the orchestra and, in particular, the intricacies and unique qualities of the violin and viola.

VanGee demonstrated different techniques associated with the playing of her instruments and beautifully executed many difficult passages that students will hearing during their upcoming visit to the symphony at the Mello Center in Watsonville. The students asked thoughtful questions and enjoyed their presentation. Perhaps they may have been inspired to take up an instrument of their choice in the near future!
