Thank You for a Succesful Gym Site Work Party!

A very heartfelt THANK YOU to the many volunteers who came and worked and sweated together to help bring a dream — a multipurpose gymnasium on the Upper Campus — closer to being realized.

EVERY step counts! All shoulders to the wheel count. All help, in all its many forms —monetary, connections to donations, moral support, volunteer work hours, fundraising ideas — it all makes a difference!
This past Saturday, November 2, under a brilliant blue Mount Madonna sky, a team of volunteers gathered and together cleared piles of old and unwanted building materials (salvaging whatever was still useful and recycling the rest) hauled trash, cut tree stumps, cleared land areas, filled several dumpsters, built temporary fencing around a portion of the gym, put down seed blankets on hillsides for erosion control.

Everyone ate lots of chocolate chip cookies – thank you Bettencourt family! – and drank lots of raspberry lemonade, had fun — and worked hard to see completion of the gym come just a tad closer.

The Mount Madonna work ethic was exemplified at its best: the spirit of many hands making the large workload lighter.

We are now rolling into the Community Phase of the Capital Campaign to finish this marvelous campus addition. Over the next two years, we will all have many opportunities to work together so that we can make this dream a reality.
