Model United Nations at MMS

Model UN at Mount Madonna School is now in its third year.  It has been a great opportunity for students at the high school level to participate in a club that is so in keeping with MMS values.

While fostering speech skills, students meet with other high schools from across Northern California and even internationally.  Over a day to a weekend depending on the meet, intense interactions and discussions occur, and issues of global importance are explored.  Many of our students have been recognized for the effectiveness of their participation, despite having one of the smallest delegations.

Our first meeting was on Friday, October 1st at lunchtime.

Please contact Sumana (Kavi, 10th) with questions.

The three meets we have chosen for this year are:
UC Santa Cruz, a beginner conference 9 to 5 on October 16th.  Stanford MUN, November 12th to 14th over a whole weekend, and Davis MUN, May 14 -15, 2011.

It is not necessary to attend all of these meets, and there are more to select from if students choose to do more.
