Advisory

To develop the social-emotional aspect of the program, we have an Advisory Program and a Life Skills class that meet weekly. Advisory provides a home base where mixed-age student groups check in with a faculty advisor. The program gives older students opportunities to lead while encouraging friendships across grades. In Life Skills, students and teachers divide time between processing issues that arise in the school community with an intentional process of dialogue, and learning practical skills. Life skills classes examine digital citizenship and gain media literacy. Dialoging sessions examine emotional safety and trust in the group, and how individuals balance their goals with the needs of the community.
