Government in Action: Washington, D.C. Learning Journey 2018

Mount Madonna School’s Values in World Thought Program

We hope you will follow the Mount Madonna School juniors and seniors’ journey to Washington, D.C., May 12-23, as they interview an interesting array of government and social action leaders. Our students have been researching and preparing questions for the past several months, and, through the interviews, they hope to gain a deeper understanding of those who have chosen a life of service.

Interviews will include members of the House of Representatives, State Department, as well as non-government leaders from organizations such as Vital Voices, Running Start, Refugees International, and the Council of Women World Leaders.

Among the interviewees are journalist Cokie Roberts of NPR and ABC News, and Ezra Levin, a co-founder of the Indivisible movement.

We hope you will take time to check in with us daily via our blog that will include video, student writings and photography, and encourage you to take time to respond with comments when you find yourself inspired.
