Featured Videos: Singing Shosholoza in Tembisa and Visiting Botshabelo

See the world through our students’ eyes:

Mount Madonna School  students visited the Tembisa Arts Center (TSWEPA), outside Johannesburg, South Africa on June 27, 2011, as part of the Sawubona Project. In this video, high school students from California and South Africa sing Shosholoza , a South African song of freedom.

In 2013, a different group of students visited South Africa and Botshabelo as part of a three-week learning journey. Botshabelo is a village, community, and home for over 200 orphaned children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Students took part in these Learning Journeys as part of their two-year social studies curriculum, Values in World Thought.
