Dear Mount Madonna School Community,
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) anticipates a surge in COVID-19 cases over the holiday season. CDPH has distributed iHealth At-Home rapid antigen test kits to participating schools. As families gather over the holidays, the iHealth At-Home tests may be used at home as a COVID-19 mitigation layer.
Staff will distribute iHealth At-Home tests kits at the ticket booth at the middle school production of Matilda Jr., at the elementary Winter Concert, and in the main office for interested families.
In collaboration with Public Health, Mount Madonna School’s COVID-19 Health Guidance has been updated to align with CDPH’s updated Testing Guidance, School Guidance, and School Guidance FAQs. PCR tests remain the “gold standard” and continue to be the preferred test for diagnosing infections for symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals. However, the Centesr for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CDPH, and Santa Cruz County Public Health now support schools in accepting FDA-approved antigen diagnostic tests for both symptomatic and asymptomatic students and staff, regardless of vaccination or exposure status. CDPH permits schools to process rapid antigen tests or accept rapid antigen tests from a healthcare provider. At this time, CDPH does not allow schools to accept at-home rapid antigen test results.
Inspire Diagnostic has implemented a holiday schedule for its three drive-through PCR testing clinic locations.
Inspire Diagnostic Holiday Schedule:
Mon.-Wed., 12/20-22 from 9:00am-2:00pm
Mon.-Wed., 12/27-29 from 9:00am-2:00pm
Thank you,
Ann Goewert
