Only at Mount Madonna

It’s a phrase often heard in the Mount Madonna School (MMS) community—and here’s yet another reason why.

Some may already be familiar with the story of our recently formed MMS coed high school soccer team. It all started when sophomore Romy Sirk-Traugh, eager to play her favorite sport with friends from school, gathered just enough players to field a team. In true Mount Madonna fashion, the group welcomed everyone—from experienced athletes to students brand new to the sport. Even our very own chef extraordinaire, Reggie Sunga, stepped up to coach with Math teacher, Luis Hernandez assisting.

United by their supportive spirit, great attitude, and, of course, their love for pre-game team dinners, the team played three friendly matches against local high schools—winning two of them!

But they weren’t ready for the season to end just yet. Determined to keep the momentum going, they signed up for an eight-week adult indoor soccer league at Soccer Central Indoor Sports in Watsonville—a facility, incidentally, owned by a former Mount Madonna parent. Their roster became something truly special, featuring a mix of MMS high school students, beloved faculty members, and dedicated parents, all coming together as one team.

Where else would you find an indoor soccer team made up of students, parents, and faculty playing together?

Only at Mount Madonna.
