Mount Madonna School (MMS) remains committed to the health and well-being of our community by making informed, community-minded decisions. During the week of January 11, the Bay Area reported having fewer than 1% of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds available due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. As a result, the State of California has extended the regional stay-at-home orders. Until the Bay Area region shows an ICU bed capacity of greater than or equal to15%, the restrictions will remain in effect.
At this time, it is imperative that we make community-minded decisions to support the health and well-being of the MMS community. We are blessed that we are able to return to in-person learning, and we want to continue offering this to our students. In order for the school to have students on campus, everyone in our community must understand and commit to their role and responsibility in keeping each other safe.
As a school community, we have decided to continue our policy of the eight-school day quarantine after the February winter break scheduled for Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19.
In order for your child to return to in-person learning on Thursday, March 4, your child must quarantine at their home in the Bay Area region starting Monday, February 22. For those families who plan to travel internationally, the quarantine period is 14 days. Please notify your division director should your child need the extended two days of remote learning.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in following the State of California’s Stay at Home Order and MMS’ COVID policies to help keep our school community healthy and allow us to maintain our on-campus learning.
