Eyla Cuenca’s (’05) Art Included in LACMA & LAUSD Art Show

Eyla has work in this art show, a collaborative between LACMA and the Los Angeles Unified School District, opening  on Friday, October 15, 3-5pm at Charles White Elementary School, 2401 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. Eyla would love to see fellow alum at the Opening Reception!

Update from Eyla: She was on the East Coast for many years but is now in Napa teaching darkroom photography at the Oxbow School. http://www.oxbowschool.org/

This is a school she hoped to attend for a semester while at MMS, but couldn’t for logistical reasons. Now she is at the school – contributing to the community in another way!

She graduated in the spring from Bennington College and moved right into this position, a 1 year internship. Toward the end of her time at Bennington she began to focus on education and was invited to assistant teach various classes there.

Eyla is now in the process of applying to a graduate program in Italy that focuses on visual literacy through a medium of the student’s choice.
