Public Spotlight on Fifth Grade's Condor Project
Mount Madonna School’s (MMS) fifth grade class project, “Do One Thing to Help the Condors and the Environment,” has received much public visibility in recent months, including recent presentations at the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s recent Ocean Plastic Pollution Summit (OPPS) and Santa Cruz’s annual Earth Day celebration.
Third Grader Competes in Regional Climbing Competition
Mount Madonna School third grader Ben Pearson competed in the Northern California regional Sport Climbing Series (SCS) climbing competition in Fremont on May 11. He was competing against boys between the ages of 8 and 11 in the Youth-D category.
He finished 7th in the qualifying climbs in the morning and moved on to the afternoon finals. He finished 8th in the finals. Over the whole season he ranked 6th in the region and 30th in the nation in the USA Climbing scoring.
"Ramayana" Onstage: Celebrating 35 Years of Magic
Enduring 2600 years as one of the world's most widely-read classics, Ramayana! tells the story of Prince Ram, who, banished from his kingdom, leaves with his true love Sita and brother Lakshman to find a new home.
All Library and Text Books Due By May 31
Attention parents: All MMS students who have library books and/or textbooks checked out have received a list of those books.
Summit for the Planet Celebration
We are thrilled to announce that we reached our goal of raising $25,000 for our school. Huge thanks to all the hard work by students and their families in gathering pledges and walking!
Students who reach their goals will be celebrating in the money booth, among other activities.
Growing Up Together: MMS Mentoring Program Matures
The Mount Madonna School (MMS) graduating class of 2013 and the current third grade class have a special story to tell together. They are the first two classes who have maintained a mentoring relationship across divisions for three consecutive years.
