Sophomore Sally Shields to Exhibit Photos in Watsonville

MMS sophomore Sally Shields will have an exhibit 20 of her original photographs at the Second Street Cafe in Watsonville, June 16 to July 31.

"This show has many macro pictures because I love when the image on the page is larger than it is in real life," comments Sally. "I want to capture details in images that you are not able to see with your naked eye and this show reflects that, as well as other things.

Special Transportation Schedule - Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14. Please note, school will be dismissed early on both dates. Students MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE with Yamuna no later than Tuesday afternoon (June 12):

June 13: morning bus schedule as usual; early dismissal in the afternoon, following 8th grade Graduation, van transportation will depart MMS at 1:30 pm (for those students signed up in advance)

Giving A Hoot: Fifth Grade's Owl Project Wins National Award!

Hoots and hollers – and animated screams of joy echoed throughout the gymnasium one recent afternoon, following fifth grade teacher Jessica Cambell’s announcement to her students that their environmental project was a national winner. “Give A Hoot: It’s Foul to Hurt the Burrowing Owl,” has won the elementary school Grand Prize in the 2012 Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge!

“Ring, ring,” Cambell said, grinning at her students and holding her hand up to her ear like a telephone, “It’s Siemens calling and you’ve won first in the nation!”

Junior Daniel Fust on Guitar in Capitola on Saturday

Mount Madonna School junior Daniel Fust will be playing guitar on Saturday evening, June 2 at Mr. Toots Coffeehouse in Capitola. Daniel and fellow musician, Paul Butler, will play from 8pm to 10pm. Mr. Toots is located on 231 Esplanade, #100 in Capitola Village (above Margaritaville).

The duo perform at the coffeehouse the first Saturday evenings of most months.
