1. Tours
In order to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy of our Preschool/Kindergarten Program for young learners, we ask applicants and their parents to meet with our Director of the Program, Sarojani Rohan.
Our Assistant Director of Admissions, Lara Kilpatrick, will arrange tours and class visits for Elementary families and can assist you with questions about the Elementary Program.
We require that all applicants receive a School Tour. Families view the three campus areas and learn about the mission and history of our school, parent participation, the overview of programs at all levels, transportation, assessments and the admissions process.
To schedule your tour, please call the School office at 408-847-2717 x232 and ask for Lara Kilpatrick. If you must leave a message, please include the following information:
- Your name
- Student’s name and grade
- Phone number and best times to reach you

Application Form complete the form in its entirety.
Application Fee Submit a nonrefundable $100 application fee to the address below. (Checks payable to Mount Madonna School)
Application Deadlines
DECEMBER 9, 2009 - Early Admission Consideration
The early admission period is open only for those grades for which we know we have openings in Fall 2010*. All application materials, including confidential reports and supporting documents must be submitted by this deadline. Iinterviews will be scheduled after this date. Notification of acceptance will be mailed in January 2010. This early application period is for families considering MMS as their primary choice. If accepted for admission during this time, you will be required to sign a binding agreement. If you are considering two or more schools, or have a young preschooler not yet 3 years old by September 1, 2010, we ask that you please apply during the Regular Admissions period.
The following classes are currently open for early application consideration for Fall 2010*:
- Preschool (age 3 by 9/01/2009)
- Kindergarten (age 4 by 9/1/2009)
- 1st grade
- 2nd grade
- 3rd grade
- 4th grade
- 6th grade
- 7th grade
- 10th grade
*If interested in enrollment for school year 2009-2010, please call to inquire about classes with current openings.
If the class in which you are interested for 2010-2011 is not listed above, please call to inquire about any possible new openings.
FEBRUARY 23, 2010 - Regular Admissions
We will review applications for all grades during this time. All application materials, including confidential reports and supporting documents must be submitted by this deadline (interviews will be scheduled after this date). If applicable, please also submit financial aid documents by this date. Notification of acceptance will be mailed in March 2010.
MARCH 29, 2010 - Late Admissions
We will continue to review applications for all grades for which we have openings. All application materials, including confidential reports and supporting documents must be submitted by this deadline (interviews will be scheduled after this date). If applicable, please also submit financial aid documents by this date. Notification of acceptance will be mailed in April 2010.
ROLLING ADMISSIONS
Applications received after the March 2010, deadline will be evaluated and admission offered on a space available basis after May 2010.
Admissions Eligibility
Preschool Readiness
Students who turn 3 years old by September 1st and who are completely toiled trained and able to verbally express wants and needs are eligible for our pre-school program. Admission is based on assessment of readiness from a personal interview session, class visit and discussion with the parents.
Kindergarten Readiness
For eligibility to our Kindergarten program, in addition to the preschool criteria above, students must be 5 years old by September 1st.
Elementary Eligibility
Entry to Elementary School is based on social, emotional and academic readiness. This includes student performance at or above grade level in all academic areas, satisfactory scores on standardized exams and a record of good conduct.
3. Confidential Report(s)
We request one confidential form for Kindergarten, and two for Elementary School. If your child has been in a previous preschool or school program, give the Confidential Report Form(s) to your child’s most current teachers with a stamped envelope addressed to:

Next Steps
Interviews
The Admissions Committee will review all applications upon receipt of the completed Application and Confidential Report Forms. If the applicant meets the admissions criteria, you will be contacted to schedule an interview for your student.
- For Preschool/Kindergarten Applicants Sarojani Rohan will contact you for an informal assessment in the classroom environment.
- For Elementary Applicants - Supriya McDonald will arrange interviews and class visits with the teacher(s) and your child.
Decision Letters and Wait Pools
The Admissions Committee will review all applicant information. You will then receive written notification letting you know the committee’s decision. If space is not available at the time you have applied and your student has met the admissions criteria, you may request that your application be kept active and you will be notified when space is available.
