Preschool and Kindergarten

At Mount Madonna School we provide a loving, safe and stimulating learning environment where young children are nurtured and encouraged to develop at their own pace. Our Pre/K program is a combined-age Montessori-based classroom that admits children from three to six years old.

Preschool and Kindergarten are the first important stepping-stones to higher learning. For some children, it is the first experience in developing relationships outside the family. We feel it is important to keep alive the students' sense of trust, goodness and wonder in the world by treating children with kindness and respect, thus letting them know they are in a safe place where people care for their well-being. We wish to engender a love of exploration and learning, as well as positive values and relationships that will continue to grow with the child.

The basis for our program lies in the creation of a developmentally appropriate and specifically designed environment, which fosters curiosity, confidence and creativity in the learning process. This setting invites and empowers children to interact with materials that will inspire all areas of their development including time to engage in imaginative free play.
