Middle School Field Trips

A great deal of important learning takes place outside the classroom. Traveling together, making use of community resources, and exposing the students to a variety of new environments is all part of bringing the learning experience into the community setting. Each year students start the term with a camping trip, either to a science camp, a Native American camp, or a river camp. During this time eighth graders take a backpacking trip. In the winter semester students join the high school students for a week of skiing. School life is also enriched by additional field trips to such places as the Opera in San Francisco, the San Francisco Exploratorium, the San Jose Museum of Technology, and the Monterey Bay Sanctuary.
