Pre-K Schedule

The child is our "curriculum". We strive to "educate" (from the Latin word educare — to bring forth):

  • The child's imaginative and creative forces... through storytelling, art, music, movement, dramatizations and classroom materials
  • The child's appreciation of aesthetic beauty... through daily interactions with a surrounding environment that is expansive and rich in natural beauty, with nature hikes, forest adventures and gardening activities. Inherent in this approach is an increasing sense of respect and responsibility for the environment
  • The child's innate social skills and sense of valuing self and others in a school community setting... through the practice of conflict resolution strategies, cooperative games and cooperative learning situations
  • The child's thinking skills... through the exploration of numbers and letters, free-choice times, learning experiences that are age appropriate (including the use of Montessori learning materials in the areas of Sensorial, Practical Life, Math, and Language). We also include activities to foster the development of motor skills, art, music and creative movement

We are committed to nurturing feelings of self-worth and confidence and to developing a sense of independence within each child.
